Hubbard’s Marina Announces Full Plastic-Free Initiative Across Entire Vessel Fleet by 2026
Madeira Beach, FL (November 17, 2025) - Hubbard’s Marina is proud to announce a major sustainability milestone: the company is officially going PLASTIC FREE across its entire vessel fleet. The full rollout begins January 1, 2026, marking one of the most significant environmental shifts in the marina’s long history of responsible coastal stewardship.
As part of this initiative, Hubbard’s Marina is transitioning from traditional plastic water bottles to reusable aluminum bottles, supported by the installation of filtered water refill stations on every vessel. Additionally, the popular free beer and wine sunset cruise will move from plastic cups to eco-friendly paper cups, eliminating single-use plastics entirely across guest operations.
This initiative has a meaningful environmental impact: Hubbard’s currently uses over 100,000 plastic water bottles annually. Eliminating this waste stream will significantly reduce plastic pollution in the local ecosystem and set a new sustainability benchmark for the region’s tourism and boating industries.
“Our marine environment is at the heart of everything we do,” said Hubbard’s Marina. “Moving to a fully plastic-free operation reflects our commitment to protecting our waterways and setting an example for responsible tourism.”
The announcement comes at an exciting moment for the company: Hubbard’s Marina has just been named a finalist in the “Sustaining St. Pete” category of the 13th Annual St. Pete Chamber Good ’Burger Awards. This sustainability initiative will serve as a cornerstone of their campaign as the organization rallies community support ahead of the awards. Voting information for the Good ’Burger Awards, along with details about the “Sustaining St. Pete” category, can be found on the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce website.
