Good Grief Community Dinner: “The Ancestors Edition” Offers a New Way to Grieve—Together

Monday, November 3rd, 2025 | 6:00–9:00 PM | 15th Street Farm | $49 per person

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Grief doesn’t have to be lonely. On Monday, November 3rd, 2025, the Good Grief Community Dinner: The Ancestors Edition invites guests to gather at the 15th Street Farm for an evening of shared comfort, remembrance, and renewal. Inspired by the Day of the Dead traditions of South and Central America, this unique dinner offers a heartfelt space to honor those who came before us—and to heal, together.

“Our hope is to create a new, softer, and more comprehensive way to grieve,” said co-host Adam Peters, author of The Blueprint to Happy and creator of The Community Happiness Project. “So many people are quietly carrying loss—this dinner gives us a place to set it down for a while, to connect, to find beauty in the remembering.”

Guests will share a comfort-food dinner and are invited to bring a photo or keepsake for a temporary ancestors and loved ones altar, surrounded by candles. For those seeking a moment of private reflection, the evening will also debut the farm’s new Wind Phone—an artful installation where visitors can make a symbolic one-way call to a departed loved one, speaking their heart into the breeze.

Adding to the experience, grief coach Vicky Edgerly of White Elephant Wisdom will be on site throughout the evening to answer questions, offer resources, and gently guide the community through a closing circle of conversation and sharing. Attendees who feel called to speak on behalf of their grief will be invited to share stories, memories, or reflections—helping turn loss into collective healing.

Lila, writer of horizontal with lila, will share her story of learning to “date her grief so it doesn’t destroy her,” while Adam will reflect on a pivotal moment in his own healing journey. Together, they invite attendees to explore how community can help transform pain into treasured memories.

“Losses come in many forms—death, divorce, deportation, deployment, estrangement,” said Lila. “But healing often begins when we realize we’re not alone. We’re all walking each other home.”

Guests may also choose to “sponsor a stranger” by purchasing an additional ticket for someone grieving who might not otherwise be able to attend. Donations made in the name of The Wind will go directly to fund community healing programs through the 15th Street Farm’s nonprofit initiatives. Contributions are tax-deductible.

Vegan meal options are available by request. Tickets: $49 per person (includes gratuities). Reserve your seat at: Eventbrite.com/e/good-grief-community-dinner-tickets-1783163121899
