Global Love Project Celebrates 4 Years of Spreading Love in St. Petersburg and Announces Expanded Vision for Peace and Sustainability

St. Petersburg, FL — The Global Love Project will celebrate its 4-year anniversary and Week 210 on Sunday, February 22 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roundabout Sunburst in the EDGE District (1111 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL). The free, open-to-all gathering invites the community to come together through art, connection, and a shared vision for a more peaceful and united city.

Founded by artist Justin Lucci, The Global Love Project began with simple chalk messages meant to bring light during difficult moments. Over time, it grew into a grassroots movement built on creativity, compassion, and community collaboration. What started as healing for one person has become a space where hundreds of people show up each week to express, connect, and belong.

“For me, this project has always been about love in action,” said Lucci. “It’s about creating a space where anyone can show up exactly as they are and leave feeling more connected. Now we’re expanding that energy by aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals and bringing together the organizations already doing incredible work in our city.”

The February 22 anniversary gathering will feature community chalking, creative expression, and an invitation for nonprofits, artists, and businesses to collaborate on a larger International Day of Peace celebration planned for September 21. Building on past “Peace in the Park” events, this year’s vision aims to unite more voices, more creativity, and more opportunities for collective impact.

The Global Love Project has partnered with community initiatives across St. Petersburg, including St. Pete Run Fest, Localtopia, mural artists, Leadership St. Pete, the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, and the EDGE Business District Association. The mission moving forward is simple: spread love, build unity, and strengthen communities through art and shared purpose.

The public is invited to attend Sunday’s anniversary gathering to create, connect, and celebrate four years of love in action. Donations to support materials and programming are welcomed via Venmo @thegloballoveproject, and chalk supplies may be contributed through the organization’s wishlist: https://a.co/d/03GlCyw1.
