Do Good Day Returns March 28 at Ferg’s, Mayor proclaims as civic initiative
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Do Good Day, St. Petersburg’s premier nonprofit fair and one of the region’s fastest growing civic initiatives, will return Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill.
Mayor Ken Welch has officially proclaimed the last Saturday in March as Do Good Day, establishing the event as a city-recognized annual platform for nonprofit visibility and volunteer engagement.
Bringing together more than 65 locally operated nonprofit organizations, Do Good Day operates in a career fair style format designed to connect residents directly with local volunteer opportunities and measurable community impact across Tampa Bay.
In its inaugural year, 38 nonprofits participated, and every participating organization reported securing quality volunteers as a direct result of the event. Participation is already on track to exceed prior numbers in 2026.
The initiative has received three Best of the Bay nominations and continues to gain regional recognition for strengthening collaboration within the nonprofit ecosystem. Founder Meredith Pericles has been recognized as a FOX 13 Everyday Hero, a Tampa Bay Lightning and AdventHealth Goal Getter, and a featured guest on Serving Up Joy for her leadership in building sustainable civic partnerships. She has also presented on nonprofit collaboration and civic engagement at the Seminole Junior Women’s Club, One Million Cups, and the Business Education Network at the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.
“Do Good Day was created to strengthen the local nonprofit ecosystem by creating intentional connection between organizations and the people who want to serve,” said Pericles. “The Mayor’s proclamation reinforces that this initiative is more than a single event; it is a coordinated civic platform designed to generate measurable volunteer engagement and sustained community impact.”
Radio St. Pete will broadcast live from the event, and additional television and media coverage is anticipated. Participating nonprofits collectively represent a combined digital network exceeding 1.9 million followers, significantly amplifying community reach.
There is no fee for nonprofits to participate, ensuring equitable access for both grassroots and established organizations. Sponsor support strengthens event infrastructure and long-term sustainability.
Community members are encouraged to attend and discover meaningful ways to get involved in the causes shaping St. Petersburg’s future.
